Japan Festa 2018 Day 1

Oh My God. Has it already been a year since I was able to get my butt back into cosplay? This event, Japan Festa or J-Fest is what sparked my interest into trying cosplaying again. And to think that 2017 would pass by this fast...amazing... I know, I know. Last weekend's event bummed me out so much and I was really thinking of quitting cosplaying and my life in general. But all of your generous comments and messages is what kept me from falling. I really must thank you all because honestly who knew what regrettable stuff I'd be getting myself into now. Now enough with the emotional intro, let us get right into what went down on Day 1!

Alright sooo. Where do I begin... ah yes. Since the event began on a Saturday I had my morning Japanese lessons as usual. I’m not the kind to skip classes for the event since I’ve already skipped once for the cosplay competition back in November last year. I thought it might be crowded yet too early to be at the place so I decided to kill time with my classes instead. I bring only my small Japanese school bag so I thought since I was cosplaying as a Kakegurui character why not just wear it because it does resemble a school uniform either way. I wore it to class expecting looks from my classmates because honestly it was kinda hard since I am not so close to them. However they were super chill about it and even knew the anime as well so bonus! I had my classes as usual then I headed to the restrooms to get my makeup done. My friend Proud was coming to meet me so I could do her makeup and I was a bit nervous yet excited to. This event meant so much to me because it gave me a boost in confidence to cosplay again. I couldn’t wait to meet my friends so carefully but surely I hurried and made it to the event!

My pals Rin and Luna were already there as the ocean man himself Jotaro Kujo and your local cherry boy Kakyoin Noriaki from JJBA. I was going to join them as DIO but man my cosplay plans were not following as scheduled so I figured since Kirari hasn’t made her debut I might as well go as her instead. We hung around and shot some cosplay shenanigans. I took a lot of photos with almost everyone because I was just so so happy to be there. I even met many of my cosplay idols like Heyledia, Seiz, and Thames!

One thing that made me happy was there were people who recognized me off of either Instagram etc. I never thought anyone would since I’m not famous or anything I just consider myself a normal person who just enjoys cosplaying as amucj as others. But it truly made me happy that I could meet the people who are inspired by me as much as I’m inspired by them! I met up with my new friends, the Houseki No Kuni Squad and we took pics together towards the end. I could say, I really enjoyed Day 1 of J-Fest and I couldn’t wait to come again for Day 2! I headed up right away to home and then out to a night market where I was going to meet your local gal Saige aka SprinkleCherry! We hung around the market and then headed back to my place where she’d be sleeping over so she could attend Day 2 of J-Fest with me.
