Funtom Tea Party: A Black Butler Themed Party

Today’s the day I attend the Black Butler themed tea party! Alone sadly since Saige couldn’t make it and I booked the reservations so fast for my life literally. But I had some people I knew who were going and agreed to meet up if we could! But wow, even though Prom is literally in the evening I am still going to this event? Really ZenZen?? Hell yes I am. Initially I didn’t think the event would fall right on Prom night but uh, I guess ya can’t help it. So yes, today I attended my very first tea party wearing Lolita for the first time as well. And I am very well aware that with my holy hands possessing the Premium tickets to the event, I have consented to extra gifts to receiving special fan services from the butlers tnemselves. Was I ready? Oh boy.

To begin with, I had a little trouble gettin there at first since the location was not very clear. But when I reached to the mystery location I happened to see another girl in Lolita getting off the motorcycle. I decided to follow her along with two other girls. The event seemed to be held at this abandoned building with plenty of office spaces and etc. Kinda odd for a location but ok I guess? ?

I didn’t really strike a conversation with the girls until of their umbrellas fell and I helped picked it up. I used my courage and asked them if they were attending the cafe and they said yes! So I followed them while introducing myself and we got to know each other a wee little bit. We took a bunch of photos with each other and chatted about Lolita and how we got interested in them. I met some familiar faces like P’Peepo! And I finally met up with the others so I wasn’t so lonely anymore. The reservation time was almost ready and we headed upstairs.

I was so nervous yet excited! The staff were dressed excellently in Black Butler cosplays. As we signed in our names and verified ourselves we then proceeded to receive our special handmade invitations and postcards. Premium VIP customers like me received a special brooch that was put on by the staff cosplaying as Grell! I can tell that the sassiness of Grell was there alright. As everyone headed and settled down we had an opening act which was Sebastian (P’Chaine!!) and Ciel :D The Ciel staff was so smol irl it was almost perfect. They did a dance but like of course to keep it in the act Ciel acted very not amused in Sebastian’s skills. Then the fan service began... from my table Ciel invited over my friend to take his hand and dance with him. Our jealous hearts could feel it alright. After the opening act and our fujoshi hearts dying because god knows what went through our minds, the guest cosplayer/ butler was revealed! Girls screamed as the guest came out and revealed to be our Vincent for the event. I was told that the person cosplaying as Vincent was a well know cosplayer but rarely made appearances outside which is why I was totally clueless about it.

As the food and drinks were being prepared, we had each of the staff butlers play their own mini games with us. Starting with Grell!! We played a game of charades and earned their signatures through our team work. Right after Grell was Agani, who had the crocodile game. It was basically Russian Roulette all over again because we had to press down all the individual tooth of Mista Crocodile here while being careful not to be the one who gets bitten. Somehow Lady Luck was with me and I won! I earned the signature as agreed.

Next was Undertaker, who had a tricky game for us. We had to make him laugh by either making a silly face or even a funny video or personal story to tell. I gave my moth attack take a shot but it wasn’t enough. Then my Lolita friend whom I saw get off the motorcycle pulled off a video she saved in her phone. It was from a Japanese reality show that documented on a rare owl with odd skills. When approached with another owl smaller than it, it spreads its wings and makes it show further it’s dominance. But when approached by an owl larger than it is, it shrinks itself and pulls off a somewhat mean look hat it looks so hilarious and this is what got Undertaker so hard.

And so as promised, we earned the signature. Next was Sebastian, who asked us to help him find a small cat. We searched around the cupboards full of random stuff toyed animals but no kitten was to be found. Then I had a whacked up idea but, because I saw Sebastian wearing cat ears all of a sudden: Is it just me or the joke is on us the entire time and that Sebastian is actually the cat we’re looking for?? The others didn’t agree at first but then gave it a shot, and hell yeah we were so right! Ciel entertained us with a game of poker which were Black Butler themed. We had to hold up our card up high and who ever gets the highest number among us will be the winner! Sadly I wasn’t but that didn’t really matter since it was just a game anyways :3

Lastly, was Vincent himself. We played a simple game where he asks us questions regarding Ciel such as his birthday, birth parents, etc. He was kind enough to allow us to google certain info up in case we forgot. And that was the end of the mini games! It was awesome because the staff were nice to us and always referred us as “Lady” and Boy oh boy can I just say that I am living because when the food arrived Ciel fed me and after a while Vincent did and that’s just wow. Being VIP had never felt so great.

And for the food if you were wondering ah yes, I ordered Grell’s themed dish which was a Red Velvet Lava Cake with oozing chocolate inside garnished with fresh strawberries and whip cream. In addition even a rose was added! I had Vincent’s mystery themed drink which turned out to be a delicious iced cocoa <3 I bought photocards and acrylic standees for me and Saige, and blasted my wallet on the Polaroid service provided. I managed to take a photo with Sebastian whom I just requested a simple hug, A heart joined together with Grell, and for the ultimate experience... a Kabedon with Vincent which I have no regrets... To end the event I was so happy to have met new and familiar faces in fact someone actually based their OOTD off of Lisa from BLACKPINK from their AIIYL M/V!! In the end we thanked the staff and hugged them for the amazing time they had for us.

I was so happy to take photos and meet new people once again, and now I might have sparked an interested in Lolita dresses!! Hoping to have a group photo with my girls soon enough! Thanking all the staff of the Funtom Tea Party for all their sacrifices and hard work to make it possible!
