Today was the 2nd official Yuri!!! on Ice Only Event here in Bangkok, Thailand!! The event was titled "DANCING ON THE BLADES" and I was attending the event with Saige who was coming as Victor while I went as Yurio. I couldn't attend the first one "MIRACLE ON ICE" from last month since it was very far from the city, and this event was also far from the city but I was able to attend due to the fact I live near the sky train stations and the event was being held near a station at Imperial World which is by the way, the home rink that our dear Phichit skates at from the anime!! I woke up early and threw on a face mask to prep my face for I'll be doing touch ups on my makeup at the event later on since we would have to queue up for the tickets in front of the event hall so getting there early would be number 1 priority first. I got ready as wore my "KEEP CALM AND SHIP ICE SKATERS" shirt that I bought from last week's event "Maruya" since it fits the theme haha.
I was excited since it was my first time traveling to a new place, to a new station. The train ride was roughly 20-30 minutes but I'd say that I think I arrived faster than that maybe. I was also pumped up to meet up with an amazing Thai cosplayer, "Kingpai" who was coming as Yuuri and agreed to meet up for photos! As I made my way towards the skywalk I could not believe I was actually seeing the actual place that Phichit skates at! I snapped some photos and even bumped into someone who was also attending the event. The place opens at 10:00 AM and it was around 10 minutes before the doors opened. I then received a message from Kingpai that she was here and I spotted her right away and greeted her. Saige was still on her way with her Uber and Kingpai was nice enough to wait with me. When Siage arrived we all went up to the event hall together.
There was already a line formed so we got into it. Then we met for the first time, a Georgi cosplayer!! This person spoke English very well and conversed with us back and forth and was friendly! The ticketing process was slow so I decided to do my makeup right on spot which wasn't that bad actually haha. I got into my Tiger onsie and everyone started staring at me haha. Me and Saige did a live stream on my Instagram and then we entered the event!! I immediately started my hunt for merch and stuffed them into my Yurio ita bag and continued shopping. I then met a lot of friendly cosplayers, and a familiar face...It was Kingpai who was now Drunk Yuuri!! We snapped a few pics and then I met the most beautiful Fem! Phichit, who looked so familiar... then I realized she was the same cosplayer I met at a con back in March b-but.. she was the handsome Phichit then.. and now she's a cute female Phichit?! She was really fun to be around and played with my onesie's tail and mini Yurio as well and placed her hamster dolls all over us! The amount of charisma was amazing in her and everyone else we met!!'
Then, the guest cosplayers arrived!! From Moscow, Russia came my favorite cosplayers: Gesha, Cheshire, Major, and Kurama!! They were real!! I was seeing the real thing!! And the best part was that they were able to free roam around the event and took photos with us and I was even in Gesha's instagram livestream!! It wasn't for the event organizer who met Gesha and invited the others, it would have never happened!! The 4 Russians were so bubbly and friendly and even did many shenanigans that caused all the fangirls in us to come out. It was just amazing, to think that being able to converse and be around the people we look up to was just so unreal. It was all their first time in Thailand and I hope they all enjoyed it and would come and visit again soon!!
The amazing JJ cosplayer came back and literally tore the stage... including his pants.. it was INSANE. We sang History Maker to close the event and I have to say, this was one of the events that was the most fun and heartwarming. All the staffs, guests, people, cosplayers were all so friendly and nice I think I met and made so many new friends!! I was able to leave the place with a big smile on my face. If there was any event I could enjoy, It'd had to be this. I thank everyone who made this event enjoyable, staff, and head for organizing and making this event possible, amazing talented artists who sold their merch, and all the cosplayers for being crazy and fun, and all the guest cosplayers who made time to come!! Till then, SEE YOU NEXT LEVEL!!
